WEB PRESENCE

We set up our cutting tools business for maximum volume with lower profit margins.  That meant we had to really move the stuff out.  We planned to that with constant and consistent advertising and a presence on the web as well.  We would, in fact, auction various tools and items from time to time, with really good blow out specials.  We would sell a few of these items as loss leaders and then see if we could get a percentage of buyers to trade up to better margined items.  We were not going to do anything high pressure.  The idea would be that if they wanted to buy the lower priced items, they could, but that they would be able to get higher quality items at good prices, and they could more or less set the price through participating in the auction of the item.  Tara set all of this up on the web.  She was a genius there.  I could do basic things on the web, but what she was doing was way past me.  We still hadn't decided on a name for the business, when Tara decided that we should name the business after her, Tara's Tools.  I thought it had a good ring to it.
